Kira Isacoff (also known as Kira Patefield-Smith) has been writing since she learned how, although these days she prefers to type as that way her hands have half a chance of keeping up! She worked for a time in journalism (reporting and editing), but decided that she preferred to write about more interesting things. After some success at seasonal storytelling for her 7yr old son Chap's home-education group, she decided to commit her stories to paper (screen!). There is a planned series of 8 seasonal books, in the hope that both on their own and together her stories will bring a bit more magic into the world. All of the illustrations have been done using plant-pigmented natural watercolours, and all books are printed on 100% recycled paper. Kira has a passion for ecology, and tries to make her mark upon this Earth one of love. Her son Chap is home-educated using some elements of Rudolph Steiner's philosophy, and Kira tries to incorporate a supportive, nurturing Waldorf aspect into her stories. In addition to being a home-educator, author and illustrator, Kira is also a Reiki Master Teacher, and works as Welsh Government Liaison for Education Otherwise She's trained dogs and taught ice skating. She has also been a photographer, and still is occasionally when she has the time! Kira was born in 1979. She's moved around a bit (her favourite place so far is Ireland), but currently lives in Wales on a farm at the site of a Roman fort with her family and 4 cats: Meep, Diddoo, Figgin and Poddy Botman. To contact Kira, please e-mail dancing.fox@beechleaf.co.uk or telephone +44 (0)1874 610776. Live your life; truly be here. Walk in love, light, peace and joy. Know laughter and sadness; know your self. With Love and Blessings. |
